Anima Guide

 

Anima seamlessly and confidentially integrates with your medical record in order to provide you with access to care, appointments and how the surgery can assess your condition.

Anima allows our Triage Team to continue to improve access times by helping us to provide the most relevant and appropriate care for your medical situation. This helps us to make the best use of our limited resources in the most efficient and safe manner.

Appointments will still continue to be offered according to the urgency and need. All requests received via Anima will be triaged in the same way to ensure consistent access for all of our patients.

Telephone lines can become very busy for us and they need to be available to patients who do not have internet access or have accessibility requirements that make it difficult to complete online activities. Completing an Anima submission also provides you with a more discrete way to submit forms and access our services if you would prefer to not discuss medical issues with our reception team.

As we are changing over to Anima we would like to request your patience as we are aware that changing to a new system may have teething problems as we get used to the changeover but we are not expecting any major issues at this time.

What are the benefits for me as the patient

As the patient you will be benefiting from the following:

  • You can provide all of the information that we need without having to queue on the phone and a response will be sent to you with a appointment-booking link (if necessary)
  • Questions will be provided for you to answer based on your issue and asked in a clear manner
  • All English and non-English speakers will be able to use the system
  • Your medical records will be kept current and up-to-date which will provide a full complete record for future reference
  • The practice will be able to respond in a clearer manner
  • You will usually receive an SMS text message and email to alert you to the response from the practice
  • You will be able to check on the status and outcomes of your past request history and current requests

How to login to Anima

You will need to log into Anima to use it. If you already have an NHS login to access the NHS app or NHS online services then you can use that by selecting the "Continue with NHS login" button option

By signing up for an account with Anima you will be able to check your request status and also receive a SMS text message alert and an email to let you know that we have responded to your request.

How it works

If you are concerned about your healthcare or you would like to contact us for any medical-related query, please click on the Anima option and follow the on-screen instructions.

Simply complete our online form and answer all of the mulitple-choice questions that are standard questions when you book an appointment with a clinician.

The submitted form request will then be reviewed and processed for you after we have decided on the best care options to provide you with.

We will always respond to medical requests by the end of the next working day.

What about my data?

NHS Digital has approved Anima for your GP practice to be able to use this to support your care. The NHS requires any system or service to be held to the highest standards of security and safety in order to assure you of a reliable and safe experience at all times.

Your data is safely stored and only sent securely within the practice and we only collect and store data that is necessary for us to provide you with the highest standard of care possible.
